An Adventure in Mentoring 101

For the month of February, our members were busy mentoring a local South Tahoe High senior to put on the "On Behalf of Everyone" Street Art Showcase as her senior project. She coordinated the entire event, managed 15 local artists, hung and curated the show, and presented her research on the history and importance of street art.

Below, our mentee learns the artistic process- how to dream up a concept, that changing your mind is okay, and to never second-guess the importance of your message. A big thanks to #hvsmember Clay Cruze for helping along the way!

Above, some shots of her working to prep the gallery spaces, curating the show, hanging artwork properly, and the final product.

We were so happy to have her and share our space & knowledge. Below is a clip of her speech at the show:

Come check out the "On Behalf of Everyone" show all month long until the closing reception April 4th at 7pm!
