Join #hvsmember David Justice for a class covering the basics of writing and delivering poetry. Be sure to bring your own pen & notebook! Class 1, March 25: Inventing the Game How to start poem; where the inspiration comes from, plus fundamental elements and forms. He'll assign some required viewing, reading, and listening. We will also write a quick, easy poem. Class 2, April 1: Keep it Moving How to avoid paralysis, how to "switch it up", more fundamental elements. Memorization techniques and methods. Discussion & technique on homework. Class 3, April 22: More memorization and performance techniques This class will be doing a final performance at our next South Lake Brewing Company gallery opening in May, TBA. $25 pre-reg $30 drop-in
