Intro to Sculpture
Wire Sculpture Class Series
Service Description
Join Jessica Levine for a 4-week class series where she leads you in basic sculpting technique using wire and basic supplies. Learn about constructing wire frames and armatures, and creating surfaces and forms that can be covered or “skinned” with other materials. A sculptural theme (tbd) will be proposed, and students will respond creatively and thoughtfully through the development of a sculptural work, while developing their sculptural skills. Students will be guided through the concept phase and given help bringing their ideas into fruition. $75 pre-registration for entire series $85 drop-in if joining day of first class In order to make this class series more accessible to everyone, we wanted to keep the class fee per person as low as possible, therefore a minimum of 8 people must be enrolled in the class for it to be able to happen. Class meets every Wednesday from March 21-April 11 6:00PM-8:00PM All materials included Jessica Levine is a large scale metal sculptor who creates work for festivals such as Burning Man. Before she learned how to weld, she created works in wire when she was first beginning to delve into her artistic practice. The ability to create lines in physical space is the magic of 3-dimensional art, whether it is created with thin malleable wires or heavy steel. Jessica’s work can be seen at jessicalevine.net.
